Below are photos of a rustic potting shed I started in the Late Fall of 2003 for my wife. She wanted a weathered rustic old look with certain features in mind like the fascia with the holes and scallop, large sawbuck door on the side and the barn board look which was made of white pine purchased from the Mackinac Forest Products saw mill. The sunburst above the front door and the front porch was my idea. My wife did not want a cement floor. Her plans are to create individual mosaic stepping stones for the front porch and dirt floor on the inside of the shed.

The sash for the windows were given to us by friends when they replaced them with vinyl windows. I made the jambs and sill to make the sash work because they where originally made as side by side which made then double the width. |
Winter set in before I had the chance to finish the potting shed. Spent more time blowing snow than woodworking this winter of 2003/2004 |

This is the look my wife specified for the fascia |
I dovetailed the 6x6's used for the shed foundation to help keep the corners from spreading. |

This how the corners of the shed foundation were put together. |
This is the center cross member dovetailed into the side timbers. |

There will be two wood panels in the lower portion then glass in the two top sections. |
